Fuchsia MacAree

In her Dublin studio, Fuchsia MacAree makes illustrations that end up as prints, maps, editorial pieces, murals, ad campaigns and books. Her work is drawn from quiet moments and observations of life, maintaining a playful mood with solid colours and simplified perspectives. Fuchsia studied Visual Communication at NCAD which provided a grounding in the mechanics of design and distilling information visually.

She recently created a social media series for 50808, a free mental health text service in Ireland, and collaborated with Article 19, an NGO, to come up with images for countering disinformation online. Fuchsia designed the mural for Google’s Dublin data centre, a series of downloadable calendars of tidal information for local swimming spots called ‘High Tides’, and her illustrated editorial pieces have appeared in the Irish Times.
